Some of the stuff in Haley’s book reminded me of this amazing scene from The Wire when Bunny Colvin takes some students out to a celebratory dinner at a fancy restaurant, and sees them completely unable to function there. The rules are unwritten, and these kids do not have access. The menu may as well be in French.
