Dear Philly Foodies and Food Scholars — Happy Labor Day. Kitchen workers everywhere unite, you have nothing to lose but your aprons (and perhaps your jobs in this climate).
There are a couple of things I wanted to let you know about. Dylan sent me a link this morning to a really interesting looking conference on food and the city. It is, moreover and most importantly, in a good food town for sure, Austin. Maybe we can all go and do the Austin Restaurant tour.
Another thing. This year I’m running the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History at Temple. Over the course of the next several months, we will be exploring questions about faith, food, ethics, sustainability, and eating and being Jewish. We have scheduled a variety of talks, seminars, and presentations. We also want to develop an on-line presence and conversation. We already have a Twitter feed and Facebook page. Follow us. Friend Us. And we are putting together a website, www.whatisyourfoodworth.com. To make this work, we need content.
What we specifically need is guest bloggers. Have an idea about food? About sustainability? About the meaning of kosher? About ethics? Anything that we make us think and talk? Let me know.
